Dry skin is the lack of moisture which leads to fine flakes and dry patches. This could be caused by the cold temperature, harsh soaps, genetics, some medications and much more.

STEP ONE:

Drink plenty of WATER everyday.

Avoid excessive BATHING or SHOWERING.
Excessive bathing or showering with hot water or harsh soaps will dry the skin out and may also cause skin irritation. Use perfume-free moisturising shower gel.
STEP THREE:

Stay Mositurised. 
Emollients (moisturisers) are first line treatment in keeping the skin hydrated. They lock in moisture in the skin and create a protective film over the skin.

STEP FOUR:

Pay Attention on CLOTHING CHOICE and CLOTHING CARE.
Avoid tight occlusive clothing it will make the skin even more irritated.
Laundry detergent can irritate the skin ensure to use detergent labelled “hypoallergenic”.

    Does taking alcohol also help dehydration?

      Hi Solomon,
      Unfortunately no, Alcohol causes increase in urination which leaves the individual dehydrated.
