Medicine Recall: Lipitor (Atorvastatin) 80mg film-coated tablets

Medicine Recall: Lipitor 
A Class 2 Medicine Recall: Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals is recalling three batches of Lipitor (Atorvastatin) 80mg film-coated tablets as a precaution. This is due to an out of specification result for microbiological testing during stability studies on a batch of the product which was not released to the market.

Expiry Date: 31/01/2020
Pack Size: 28 tablets
First Distributed: 05/09/2017

Batch Number: T43170 (Lipitor)
Expiry Date:31/01/2020
Pack Size: 28 tablets
First Distributed: 30/08/2017

Batch Number: T43157 (Almus)
Expiry Date: 31/01/2020
Pack Size: 28 tablets
First Distributed: 10/09/2017

The above batches were identified as potentially affected by the same issue during the root cause investigation, although no out of specification microbiological results have been reported for these batches.

Quarantine and return stock to original supplier.
