ADHD During the Easter Holidays

For many ADHD mothers, the Easter holidays do not feel like a break.

They can feel like one more thing to manage.

Trying to be present at work, present at home, organise activities, keep on top of routines, and somehow hold everything together can be exhausting.

Especially when you are struggling with your own executive function.

As a pharmacist, I understand this and I see it often.

My advice is to start small and try not to set unrealistic expectations for yourself.

It can help to have:

1. A short priority list for the week
2. One or two family goals
3. A visible calendar, planner or mood board in the kitchen
4. A regular check-in day where everyone can review plans together

You do not have to create the perfect Easter holiday to be a good parent. You just need a structure that gives you more opportunities to bring your best self to your family.

Be gentle with yourself.

You are doing a fantastic job showing up for your family, your career, and all the other hats you wear daily.

What helps you stay organised during school holidays?
