Concerns over NHS Medicine Supply Affected by Brexit?

Brexit: The uncertainty behind Britain leaving the European Union leaves experts wandering if NHS will encounter delays in Medicine Supply to patients in need.

 

The Brits voted to leave the European Union (EU), as to how and when the debates are still ongoing.
At the moment, major pharmaceutical companies follow the European Medicines Agency centralised procedure to get approval to market medicines across all EU member states.

 

If UK leaves the EU it means that drug companies will have to go through British regulatory agency before a new drug comes into the UK market.

 

Will Brexit impact NHS medicine supply chain. Being part of the EU allows ease of import and export between the member states. This is very convenient during medicine supply shortage in the UK?


Brexit leads to drop in pound £ value. Will NHS lose if pharmaceutical equipment have to be purchased outside the UK?
